Privacy Policy
The short version. Evergreen has no accounts and no ads. It does not ask for your name, email address, contacts or location, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. The App records anonymous gameplay events under a random player ID so we can see how the game is played and fix what breaks. If you sign in to Game Center, Apple backs up your save to iCloud. You can delete everything from Settings inside the App.

1. Who we are
Evergreen is developed and published by One Light Media LLC (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at onelightmediallc@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
The App never asks you to create an account. Everything below is collected automatically as you play, and none of it is linked to your name or email address.
2.1 Identifiers the App creates
- Player ID. A random 12-character code the App generates the first time it runs. It is stored in your save file and shown in Settings so you can quote it to us for support. It is not derived from your device, your Apple ID or anything else about you.
- Session ID. A random code generated each time the App launches, used to group the events of one play session.
2.2 Gameplay analytics
The App records events about how the game is played and sends them to Unity Analytics (see section 4). Each event carries the Player ID, Session ID, the App version, the time, how long the session has run, and event details such as:
- session start, pause, resume and end; which screens were opened;
- battles fought, stages cleared, hero levels gained, skills learned and gear upgraded;
- mini-game starts and results;
- gacha pulls, including the banner, the number of pulls, the best rarity drawn and how many gems remained;
- in-app purchase attempts, completions and rejections, identified by product (for example “gems_550”) and price tier;
- idle chest, quest, monthly card and shop claims;
- whether the update prompt was shown.
The Unity Analytics software development kit (SDK) also collects technical information about the device the App runs on: device model, operating system version, screen size, language and region, the App's bundle identifier and version, and a Unity-generated installation identifier. Unity's collection is described in Unity's Player Privacy Policy.
A copy of the same events is written to a small log file on your device (about 2 MB at most, older entries are trimmed automatically). That file never leaves your device unless you send it to us yourself.
2.3 Your save file
Your progress (hero level, gear, outfits, pets, currencies, settings, quest state and purchase entitlements) is stored in a save file on your device. If you are signed in to Game Center, the App also stores a copy in your personal iCloud key-value storage so it can be restored on your other devices. We do not operate a server that receives your save file.
2.4 Game Center
Game Center sign-in is optional. When you are signed in, the App reads your Game Center player identifier and display name (alias) to identify whose backup it is restoring, and reports leaderboard scores and achievements to Apple. Apple, not us, holds your Game Center account. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
2.5 In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment card, billing address or Apple ID. The App receives a purchase receipt and transaction identifier from Apple so it can grant what you bought, and it records a purchase event (product and price tier, no payment details) in analytics.
2.6 Update check
On launch the App asks Apple's App Store lookup service which version is currently available, sending only the App's bundle identifier. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address to Apple. Nothing is sent to us.
2.7 Support email
If you email us, we receive your email address, whatever you write, and any attachments. We use it only to answer you.
3. Why we collect it
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (where one is required) |
|---|---|---|
| Player ID, Session ID, gameplay events | Understanding how the game is played, balancing the economy, finding and fixing bugs, checking that purchases and rewards are granted correctly | Our legitimate interest in operating and improving the App |
| Device and App technical information | Diagnosing crashes and performance problems on specific devices | Our legitimate interest in operating and improving the App |
| Save file, iCloud backup, Game Center identifiers | Saving and restoring your progress | Performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Service) |
| Purchase receipts and transaction identifiers | Granting and restoring what you bought; preventing fraud | Performance of our contract with you; legal obligation to keep transaction records |
| Support correspondence | Answering your questions | Our legitimate interest in supporting players; your consent when you contact us |
4. Third parties
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The App uses these services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Service | What it handles | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Unity Analytics (Unity Technologies) | Gameplay events and device information described in section 2.2 | Unity Player Privacy Policy |
| Apple: App Store, Game Center, iCloud | Purchases, identity for backups, iCloud storage of your save, leaderboards, the update check | Apple Privacy Policy |
| GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) | Hosting for this Site | GitHub Privacy Statement |
| Google Fonts (Google LLC) | Serves the body typeface for this Site | Google Privacy Policy |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of players, or to a successor if the App changes hands. In that last case this policy continues to apply until you are told otherwise.
5. What we do not do
- No accounts, and no collection of your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone or precise location.
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites, and no use of the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA). The App does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it has nothing to ask.
- No selling or renting of personal data.
- No push notifications.
6. How long we keep data
- Save file and on-device log: until you delete the App.
- iCloud backup: until you remove the App's data in your device's iCloud settings or delete it through Apple.
- Analytics events: retained by Unity for the period set by Unity Analytics, currently up to 12 months for event data, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Aggregated figures (for example “the average player clears stage 10 on day 3”) contain no identifiers and may be kept indefinitely.
- Purchase records: as long as required to honour purchases and to meet accounting obligations.
- Support email: up to two years after the conversation ends, so we can follow up on the same issue.
7. Your choices and rights
Delete your data yourself
- Deleting the App removes the save file and the on-device event log.
- The App's iCloud backup can be removed from your device's iCloud settings (Manage Storage), or by deleting it through Apple.
- Signing out of Game Center stops the App from backing up or restoring through iCloud.
Ask us
Depending on where you live (for example the EU or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. You will not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
Because we hold no name or email for you, the only way we can find your data is by Player ID, which is shown at the bottom of the App's Settings screen. Email onelightmediallc@gmail.com with your Player ID and what you would like done.
8. Children
Evergreen is rated 12+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age below which parental consent is required where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the App has no accounts and collects no contact details, the data described above is the same for every player. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, for example by email, contact us.
9. Security
Analytics events travel to Unity over encrypted connections, and your iCloud backup is protected by Apple's iCloud security. Your local save file is stored in the App's private container on your device, protected by your device passcode and iOS app sandboxing. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorised access will never occur.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and Unity and Apple operate globally. If you play from outside the United States, the data described in this policy is transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where those providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your own. Unity and Apple each rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses for those transfers.
11. The Site
evergreenrpg.com is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. GitHub, as the host, may log the IP address and browser details of visitors for security purposes under its own privacy statement. The Site loads one typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when the page loads.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change what the App collects, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
